"Invisible Righteousness" - August 16, 2006

An important doctrine in true Christianity is the doctrine of the righteousness of saints.  In the Bible, the righteousness of saints is symbolized by fine linen garments, clean and white.  Sin is symbolized by spots, blemishes, and filthiness.  "All our righteousness is as filthy rags," because man's version of righteousness always includes some sin.  Christians are supposed to put on Christ's righteousness, which was perfect.

In mainstream Christianity they have run into a problem; and  they have evolved doctrines to cope with this problem.  The problem is that they cannot cease from sin.  The solution they have found is to pervert the doctrine of imputation (reckoning).  So now they say that so long as you believe and accept the finished work of Christ on the cross; then God sees you as righteous. Like the "Emperor's New Clothes," no one can see their righteousness; they insist only God can see it.

But God is not blind to the sins of those who say they know him.  There will be many who come to Jesus in His day and say, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied/cast out devils/done many wonderful works in thy name?" And because they could not cease from sin, Jesus is going to deny them calling them "workers of iniquity."

This writer has been around the internet and it is so painfully obvious that people think that as a Christian they are not expected to live up to the standard of perfection.  But the Bible is clear, if you cannot stop sinning you will not inherit eternal life.

Some people are foaming at the mouth as they read this, and I can hear them, "but righteousness is the gift of God , not of works which we have done!"  That is correct, you cannot earn righteousness, it has to be given to you by the grace of God. But please note, if you do not actually receive the ability to be righteous, then you do not possess the righteousness of Christ.  I can claim to possess His righteousness till I'm blue in the face; but if I still sin, then God has not given me any righteousness.  I simply do not have the gift.

What modern theologians have done is decide to substitute their own sinful righteousness, for God's perfect righteousness, and they end up with an invisible righteousness, which is really no righteousness at all.  This is actually hypocrisy; they have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God, nor can they, because it is not given to them to do so.

Titus2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

The true righteousness of God is visible and very real.  The word Christian means little Christ, and so we should be as he was.

1John4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Sin is something that should belong exclusively to the past

1Peter 4:3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

"Once Upon a Time..." - July 1, 2006

There are fables, popular in mainstream Christianity,  and one of them goes something like this: "Once upon a time, God had a perfect plan: He wanted to save everyone, but man's free will continually frustrates this plan."

The word of God teaches us that God has a determinate counsel, which is according to His foreknowledge; and we are but clay in His hands.

In the world we live in today, the true God, the God of the Bible, if ever heard of in truth, is not appealing to most people:

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."  Isaiah Chapter 45

"I kill and I make alive, I wound and I heal," Deuteronomy Chapter 32

People who sit in churches can not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lust; have heaped to themselves teachers who are willing to pervert the doctrine of the Apostles and Prophets so as to please them.

In this manner, men have fashioned god in their own image and after their likeness. They have turned their ears away from the truth unto fables. They still identify this strange God as being the Bible-God: Jesus Christ. But all that they do and teach in the name of Jesus Christ  is perverted and reprobate concerning the faith.

In philosophy they talk about the "problem of evil," in seminaries and on the net they talk about this, "problem of evil," but evil is not a problem for God; God created evil for a purpose, evil is God's tool.

People acknowledge that God created everything, but are slow to acknowledge that God created evil. Not just more passive evils like earthquakes, disease, and floods; but the evils men want to claim they have created: wickedness in their hearts; and shall we speak of the evil angels? Yes, God made them that way too.

Not that God took otherwise "good" souls and implanted evil in them; but God created souls that were, by nature, wicked and evil in His sight.  If He did not make them as they are, then they would not exist as their own conscious selves.

Why?  Foremost, it suits His purpose, the world exists to please God, and God is pleased that those He has chosen to become His sons be conformed to the image of His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus.  And according to His purpose He made evil in this time, it serves Him and them..

Now people are objecting: "I can't serve a God like that, God is not fair."  But God is fair, that which is made for destruction, goes to destruction; and that which is ordained to life, to life.  Those who say they cannot serve Him are right: they cannot.

God does not owe man a living, and if man lives at all, it is by the goodness of God, because there are countless people who will never be born, who do not have life, and do not share in that goodness as do all the living sons of men.

God, by his mercy, gives to some, those whom he chooses, life eternal.  And even if that which dies suffers, or is in torment, or pain; that does not make God bad. Those who hate God will always see Him as evil, that is even the way they were created to see Him, He brings evil upon them.

What an awesome, great, and terrible God.

If you can serve such a God, you've come to the right website.

"Why There?" - June 3, 2006

When David bought the threshingfloor of Araunah (or Ornan) the Jebusite (2Samuel24 and 1Chron21) he did not ask the Lord, "Why there?" But that is the question a former friend asked me after I told him how I had  received the Holy Ghost March 21st, 2005 in Lyons, Wisconsin, at Spirit of Truth Church.

The question had never occurred to me, "Why there?" but I thought I might try to think about it. For David the answer was simple enough: "Because the Lord commanded me to buy that threshingfloor and rear up an altar there and sacrifice." And for me the answer is that simple as well:  I know God led me to this church and He bore and continues to bare witness of it.

But the question others have on their minds: "Why did God choose that place?"  I don't dare answer; God has His own determined counsel; Was the dirt cleaner, the elevation just right? Shall I descend into folly?

When David bought Araunah's threshingfloor and did what he was told concerning the offering there, the plague stopped.  What is special to me about Spirit of Truth Church, is the work the lord has done, and is doing there.  The sins that plagued me stop here, the Spirit of God came to me here, oh the riches that are here! There is no place more beautiful to me.

People are saying,  "They think their church is the only church you can get saved in." But it is the gospel we preach which leads people away from sin and to righteousness; it is that gospel and the doctrine of truth that will save us if we continue in it.  But why did the Lord place that gospel in this church? Some questions are foolish

My former friend believed the work that was done to me, yet still he asked, "Why there?" Not in innocence but with hostility.  In some, God puts the faith to receive that which He does, in others, He puts it not; and without it, it is impossible to please Him.

In the story of Naaman the Syrian (2Kings5) he, at first, became angry when Elisha (by a subordinate) told him to wash seven times in the Jordan River: "Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel?"  Afterwards, when he repented and did as the prophet told him, he had a different perspective and asked that he might be given, "two mules' burden of earth," in order to worship the Lord.

Would Moses ask, "Why is that bush burning there? Why is this holy ground? and; Why that mountain?" Abraham, "Why should I go to that land?"  Elijah, "Why shall that widow sustain me?"  etc. etc.  But some people stumble at and  despise or deny God's work because of the person, place or the thing He chooses to work in/by/through/whatever. "Why the Bible, why that book?"

It is not that God chooses that which is, "special," to do His work in, but that God makes whatever it is special by what He does in it.  "Why there?" Because it was God's determined counsel that it should be there, is that not cause enough? I used to believe that a church building is nothing; but now, because of the work of God: the wood, the soil, the nails, of our church are holy, because of the Lord. Yes, there, that, them. Why did God choose that? I don't care.  I'm just thankful to know what He is choosing. - Webmaster

The Assault on the Foundation - May 1, 2006

In America, Christianity is taken mostly for granted.  A large majority, in one form or another, consider themselves, or call themselves followers of Jesus Christ.  But America is a very hostile place to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Television programs, cable TV documentaries, and university professors place gospels which are not of God on the same level as, or above, those we have received by the Spirit; and also promote the notion, that the true gospels are not even written by the apostles and prophets. Books and movies such as "The Da Vinci Code" continue the assault; not merely on the bible, but on Christ Himself.

Those who partake of the true Church are "fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone."  The works going on in the world today are to make that cornerstone unrecognizable to the average person; to break down any confidence in the foundation Christ Himself laid:  the traditions codified in scripture by the very men who walked with Him.

These works go on not only in "the world" outside of the church but the spirit of antichrist works even in the church, in fact, that is where it works most effectively.  The greatest hostility to the Gospel is among those who consider themselves conservative believers of it; who carry bibles and garnish the word of God with the teachings of Moody, Spurgeon, Schofield, and the rest of the Perverts: every name you could name. While the world openly attacks our foundation; the mainstream churches undermine it with their perverted doctrines:  a surprise only to those whose eyes are shut.

Their reality does not match the gospel, so they pervert the gospel to match their reality.  They cannot cease from sin, so they teach a gospel wherein sin abides.  They pervert the doctrine of the resurrection; they pervert the doctrine of baptisms; they pervert the doctrine of faith toward God; they pervert the doctrine of repentance from dead works; and they do pervert the doctrine of eternal judgment and of laying on of hands.

Spirit of Truth Christian Church is from the despised lunatic fringe, we actually take the word of God seriously, and see it as the Spirit speaks.  He that commits sin is of the Devil;  that man of sin must first appear; be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost; by faith, Noah moved with fear; that faith without works is dead; and every soul that sins, it shall die.

Front page From April 2006

Spirit of Truth Church is a highly exclusive cult of the Lord Jesus Christ.  And we are well pleased to be an extremely small group with unorthodox beliefs.  If the religion of the masses was true; then the bible would not be true; God has blinded their eyes.

The Churches of Death despise the small church.  And small churches want to be big ones; and the big ones want to be even bigger.  "Let us make a name for ourselves, that we be not scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." But God has not called His church to be great in the earth, not now.

They measure God's favor but the numbers they run.  But we measure it by the numbers that flee.

Jesus was not great in the earth, the multitudes that followed him turned on him.  The multitudes which the Apostles converted soon fell away.  Many of the men they trained to oversee the flock were wolves, who did not spare the flock.

And to the Lord was left but a select few.  If we had not been left a very small remnant, we would have been like Sodom and Gomorrah.  Those who remain are called and chosen and faithful.

Spirit of Truth Church is a small congregation of fanatical worshippers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our doctrine is the true doctrine of the Lord Jesus and His Apostles. Our doctrine is measured by the plummet line of God's perfect standard which is His word.

Front page From March 2006

One of the teachings which sets us apart from all the false churches (99% of churches) is that we affirm truth which has been hid from those whom God is destroying. Namely this: that the follower of Jesus must walk as Jesus walked, (1Jn 3:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.)

We are not of those who say they are in Jesus and cannot cease from sinning 2Peter2:14-22. We are not of the perverted oxymoronic, hypocritical, "sinner-saints." This topic is covered extensively in the sermons. This blessing is only possible by the power of the Holy Ghost in Christ.
