The word of God has a dual effect, this effect is explored in-depth in this sermon which is a continuation of the latest series of messages. The word divides and also defines. It separates the wicked from the righteous. It also defines and makes each what they are to be. The same word preached to each is a savor of life to life for one and the savor of death to death for the other. This is good in the sight of God, this is what His word is purposed to do, as Jesus taught concerning parables: to one it is given to understand, to the other it is not given. And it is in their hearts' preparation that it is determined what or how they will hear the word.
