Feelings

Human beings are run by feelings.  Feelings serve many purposes, for good and for ill.  The kinds of feelings we have in response to what is spoken to us by the word of God, and the way we respond to those feelings, reveals what our nature is.  Whether we are children of wrath: doing, by nature, the works that bring wrath; or whether we are the children of God: doing, by nature, the things the new nature dictates. Often, the Children of God and the children of wrath will respond differently to the same feelings: both may feel a fear of God, but the one does not like the feeling and seeks out a more comforting voice; the other embraces the fear, and departs from evil.
