There is a simple gospel laid out in the new testament by the Lord Jesus and by His Apostles, it is also laid out in this sermon. Those who have believed it, and obeyed it, are born of an incorruptible seed, not as with the corruptible gospels of men which are received by tradition, after the rudiments of this world, after cunning craftiness. God has a determined counsel, of His own will, and that is why he saved us. We men are low and there is none that can intercede on our behalf; but god sent His Own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, to become sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. One of the great sins of our time is that men, on hearing this gospel, immediately run to the Bible to look for a loophole by which they may feel secure while they are yet continuing to sin. The false gospels say, "the righteousness of God is to keep us in sin while imputing righteousness unto us, because we believed the work of Christ is finished." There is no darkness in God, only light; if we walk in darkness, we are not of God. If you cannot cease from sin, Satan owns you. This sermon covers 1John 1, and closes this supposed "loophole."
